Post-doctoral fellowships
The VISIONTRAIN Marie Curie network has launched its post-doctoral program.
This program consists in 12 post-doctoral grants of a duration of 1 year. Each
one of the teams listed below will host one post-doctoral researcher
during the period 2006-2008. Each selected post-doc researcher will be granted
with a 12 month fellowship.

the following partners: SISSA (Italy), University of Malmo (Sweden), The
Technion
(Israel),
EPFL (Switzerland),
University of Utrecht (Nederlands), University of Mannheim
(Germany)
Candidates wishing to apply for a post-doctoral position must fulfill the
following conditions:
- They must be eligible for being granted a Marie
Curie ER fellowship: They must be nationals of a state other than the
country where they wish carry out the work. At the start of their fellowship/activity,
candidates may not have resided or carried out their main activity in that
country for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the
start date. Short stays such as holydays are not taken into account;
- The fellowships are primarily open to European nationals from member, associated,
and candidate states. It will be possible however to grant a maximum of 3
fellowships to candidates from other countries.
- They must hold a PhD degree in computer vision, statistical learning theory,
image understanding, or any other related field.
- They should not have more than 10 years of research experience.
- They must have a strong background in computer vision attested by a strong
publication record in the major computer vision journals and conferences.
Submission of applications:
Applications could be submitted electronically any time before 31
December 2007 to one of the persons listed below. Potential candidates
are encouraged to approach
one
or
several
of these
persons, to interact with them, and to submit them the following items:
- A complete CV with the personal data (date of birth, citizenship,
country of residence, marital status, contact information, etc.), the academic
titles
and degrees, the list of publications, etc.;
- A description of the research topic that the candidate
wishes to develop (approx. 2 pages). This document may necessitate that the
candidate interacts
with the VISIONTRAIN team that she or he wishes to join;
- The title and abstract of the PhD thesis, the name of
the University who delivered the degree, the date of defense, the name and
e-mail of the thesis
advisor;
- The names, emails, and phone numbers of at least two persons (other than
the thesis advisor) able to write a letter of recommendation;
- Any additional information that the candidate wishes to communicate (preprints
of published work, etc.).
